Jelena Smiljanić is an architect and artist based in Vienna. Born and raised in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, she has always found her truest expression through drawing and painting. Although her professional path led her into architecture, art has remained a quiet constant—a space for reflection, discovery, and emotional depth.

As a self-taught artist, her work is defined by a spirit of exploration and experimentation. Her inspiration comes from many sources—most often from nature and the materials it provides, but also from people and architecture.

Each painting is an open-ended journey with no fixed destination. It teaches patience, embraces unpredictability, and mirrors the rhythm of life itself. Through this process, she explores not only the creation of art, but the art of living.
